The Marshall VAC-23SHUC captures either an SDI or HDMI source through USB-C for a computer workflow. Active loop outputs preserve local video access while the host receives capture. Input and USB-speed limits differ, making it important to specify the desired source format and computer connection together.
Marshall VAC-23SHUC Features
- SDI or HDMI source selection. 3G/HD-SDI and HDMI inputs accommodate professional cameras and HDMI devices. One capture interface can serve either source type without requiring a separate converter for each connection standard.
- HD capture from SDI. The SDI input supports formats up to 1080p50/60. This is an HD input path even though the unit also supports higher-resolution HDMI sources.
- Higher-resolution HDMI input. HDMI accepts supported video up to 4096 × 2160 at 30 fps. With an appropriate source and USB 3.0 host, USB capture can reach 3840 × 2160 at 30 fps.
- Active loop outputs. SDI and HDMI loop-through connections preserve video access for local or downstream equipment. A display or other receiver can remain connected alongside the computer capture path.
- USB audio and analog input. USB audio uses 48 kHz sampling, and a 3.5 mm stereo input provides analog audio access. Analog insertion into HDMI requires an existing audio track in the source signal.
- Host-powered USB operation. The converter is powered by the computer's USB connection and supports USB 3.0 and 2.0. Capture capability depends on the actual USB speed, not simply the USB-C connector shape.
