Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs or any combination. 

Our 4K 30 Hz 16x16 HDMI matrix gives you thousands of input and output combinations. This 16x16 HDMI Switcher switches quickly without any flashing as its design is to avoid flashing, as seen by other HDMI matrix switchers, it presents EDID which represents all the connected displays. This eliminates the source trying to adjust the resolution dynamically to fit the TVs, which limits flexibility but increases usability. 

NOTE: This matrix is 4K 30 Hz with HDMI 1.4 compliantcy and HDCP 1.4 protocol compliant. If you are using HDCP 2.3/2.2 source devices please get the optional converters.

When the HDMI signal progresses through this 16x16 HDMI Matrix Switcher it is re-timed, level compensated, its phase error is corrected, and any data jitter is eliminated, so the output is a regenerated brand-new perfect HDMI signal as when it was coming in from the source device.

The EDID learning function is only necessary whenever you encounter any display on the HDMI output port that cannot play audio and video properly. Because the HDMI source devices and displays may have various levels of capability in playing audio and video, the general principle is that the source device will output the lowest standards in audio format and video resolutions to be commonly acceptable among all HDMI displays.

In this case, a 720p stereo HDMI signal output would be the safest choice. Nevertheless, the user can force the matrix to learn the EDID of the lowest capable HDMI display among others to make sure all displays can play the HDMI signals normally.
