HDTV Supplys WolfPack™ POE HDMI Over IP Matrix Switcher family sends & receives a HDMI video/audio signal to up to 450 feet in a 1080p HDMI format using CAT6 cables. The KVM HDMI Over IP Matrix Switcher includes multiple KVM HDMI Transmitters (TX) and multiple KVM HDMI Receivers (RX) and is POE, meaning you don't have to use AC power supplies.

They are installed using 1 piece of a twisted pair CAT6/7 cable and are transmitted digitally over that single cable without any signal loss. Internal formats of MPEG4-AAC and LPCM stereo adapt to available network bandwidth if needed. It supports both H.264 & H.265 (switchable) but you can achieve better video quality with H.265 vs. H.264 at the same bit rate as only H.265 supports 10-bit color and high dynamic range of color.

These WolfPack KVM HDMI Over IP Matrix Switchers use the switchable H.264 or H.265 technology to work together with WolfPack POE KVM Transmitters (Encoders) and KVM POE Receivers (Decoders) to provide a complete end-to-end streaming system. They can also provide a video wall up with input and output HDMI resolutions supporting up to 1920x 1080@60Hz. Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs or any combination.

Wireless iPad Real Time Video Preview Of Every Source Device: Along with the other major features like POE, separate audio and creating video walls, a key feature is our Wireless iPad Real Time Video Preview. That means if you build your own matrix and pick the optional wireless iPad control your iPad will show in real time the videos that are on, say, all your DirecTV receivers...again, all of them. If you have 12-DirecTV receivers all set to different channels you'll see 12-different real-time videos, not pictures, real-time video. If it is a DVD playing, you'll see that real time video also. This wireless iPad real time video preview sets us apart from others who makes you run to the TVs to see what's playing. Only at HDTV Supply can you get this feature. If you need to change the channel just then go to your DirecTV receiver and change it as you no longer must run out to your sports bar floor, factory, or other installations to see whether it changed or not. The HDMI Receiver Over IP allows you to simultaneously support an HDMI 1.4 Signal (including 1080p video with 5.1 audio) to one or more HDMI video projectors or LCD Panels using one CAT6/7 cable over a standard Ethernet infrastructure.

Internal Video Wall Processor: Not only is this product an HDMI matrix switch it is specifically designed to support the video wall configurations below. Your iPad is used to create video walls. Our WolfPack™ HDMI Over IP Matrix Switchers uses TCP/IP network technology and can have a full HD HDMI signal transmitted and distributed to 100m or 330 feet with cat5-5e and 450 feet with CAT6/7. The local and remote units can be connected for a point-to-point connection, or through VLAN isolation on a managed network switch for a multipoint-to-multipoint configuration. It supports Drag-N-Drop Video Wall Processing.

Example 1: Create a 2x2 Video Wall using 4-TVs with either one large picture or 4-individual pictures at one, or multiple locations.

Example 2: Create a 3x3 Video Wall using 9-TVs with either one large picture or 9-individual pictures at one, or multiple places.

Example 3: Create a 4x4 Video Wall using 16-TVs with either one large picture or 16-individual pictures at one, or multiple places.

Example 4: Create a 5x5 Video Wall using 25-TVs with either one large picture or 25-individual pictures at one, or multiple places.

...and all easily created by your own iPad!

Fast Seamless HDMI Switching: These HDMI Over IP Matrix Switchers deliver instantaneous video switching with full 1080p/60 video at each port. This high-performance engine processes HDMI signals by executing EDID hops and HDCP handshakes simultaneously at both the source input, the display outputs and scales the inputs for the best output resolution. It sets the output clock timing and uses a frame buffer to retain the input signal information for the fastest output.

Separate Embedded Audio In and De-embedded Audio Out: These HDMI over IP Matrix Switchers allow you to display video with separate audio coming from another audio source as it supports embedding the audio on the KVM HDMI TXs connector and then de-embedding the audio on the KVM HDMI RXs 3.5mm connector.

NOTE: All these KVM HDMI Matrix Switchers Over LAN systems, unless otherwise noted, require a dedicated HDMI video system with its own Ethernet switch and not attached to your existing LAN system due to the unknown bandwidth impact on the HDMI video from your network. The design needs to meet these specs:
  1. One Dedicated VLAN for the devices below
  2. No other network appliances in the VLAN
  3. Different from an existing "Multicast VLAN"
  4. Unique subnet
  5. No other network appliances in the subnet
Using all the systems below in a single dedicated VLAN to keep them from interfering with the rest of your VLAN. With all devices in a single VLAN, switching sources involves modifying the IP of the Receiver rather than actively manipulating the VLAN configuration of the managed switch. See hundreds below if you can create a dedicated HDMI Video system over a VLAN based upon the above criteria.

When a stacked switch is used, the video bandwidth usage for Transmitters needs to be considered as the stacking cables that connect switches have a maximum bandwidth capability that is much lower than if a single switch is used. Connecting stacked switches together requires specialized stacking cables. Please call us at 833-WOLFPACK (833-965-3722) for more.

Q: Does the transmitter have an audio out?
A:
Yes, the transmitter and receiver both have the 3-pin audio output.

Q: How do you test before you ship my system?
A:
We put the products in the heating room for 12-hours for aging and have all the products turned On and the temperature of the heating Room set to 140 degrees. If anything fails we replace the failed unit and start the test over again.

Q: Is it a picture of a screen or full-motion video?
A:
The preview of both sources and the Video wall is with full-motion video.

Q: Is there audio with the iPad Preview screen?
A:
No, the preview on the iPad will not have the audio function.

Q: Can there be more than one showing?
A:
For the source preview, it can be showing all the sources. The TV/Video Wall will be only showing the one we selected.

Q: Is it a source only?
A:
This preview is for both input sources, and the selected TV or video wall

Q: Can it be at TV at the destination?
A:
Do you mean to have this preview function on the TV? If so, it's not able to do it, as the preview function is only available on the iPad APP. Unless we wirelessly share/mirror the iPad to the Apple TV by airplay.

Q: Can there be text written below the picture or video?
A:
We can add the OSD picture on any position of the TV. I am working on a demo video of this, but this will need to use the PC control software to add.

Q: If it is a satellite receiver can you change the channel?
A:
No, we will only be able to preview the contents, but not able to change the channels

Q: If a DVD is playing do you see a picture?
A:
Yes, we will see exactly the same contents as the DVD plays.

Can the Ethernet switches be cascaded and still act as a matrix?
A:
Yes. The network switches can be cascaded and still act as a large matrix.

Q: Is it a WEB GUI control or PC software
A:
It is a PC control software-based system for the configurations like CEC settings, resolution, image rotating, etc . It also has an optional iPad app and does not have a web GUI.

Q: How do you setup the video wall?
A:
For the video wall set up, it can done it in seconds using the iPad app.

Q: How do you change the IP and MAC address of the transmitters and receivers?
A:
You can set up the IP and MAC on the iPad app or PC control software, but we recommend using the automatic IP and MAC address, so it can support plug and play.

Q: The Transmitters and Receivers both have Audio out on the receiver can the audio be matrixed such as Receiver A sends audio out to Receiver B, if using the audio out?
A:
The audio out on both the RX and TX are the corresponding audio with the video so its audio function is only an extract function from the video and is not able to do as an audio matrix.

Q: On the IP control box there are (2) LAN ports, would that be for 2 separate LANs?
A:
We will only need to use the LAN 1 for the controlling & settings and for the broadcast version:

  • LAN1 (AV/POE): To connect with the network switch use the PC control software to control this system
  • LAN2 (C): To connect with the network switch this is used for a 3rd party to use the IP control this system

Q: What is the distance with POE in and out?
A:
With the POE, the input can up to 100m (330 ft) at 1080p@60Hz and the output also is 100m (330 ft)

Q: What is the distance without POE using the AC adapters in and out?
A:
It is also the same distance as the POE distance as in and out both are 100m (330 ft)

Q: What type of UTP cable do you recommend?
A:
As it's using for the video signal transmission we recommend using the STP 868B cable

Q: Can you use CAT6 - 5E - 6 and 7 and is there a difference in length of cables?
A:
We did the tests here with the CAT6/CAT6/Cat6/Cat7 cable and the CAT6 and CAT7 are the best and can reach a distance of 450 feet with POE

Q: Please give us an explanation of when the large and small streaming resolutions would be used?
A:
The highest resolution can up to 1080p@60Hz, the lowest resolution is 680x480@60Hz but that resolution can't support the IP camera decoding

What does the PC Configurator do?
A:
The PC control software is mainly for the resolutions, RS232, image adjustment and RX/TX IP settings

Q: Does the iPad control require a wireless router?
A:
Yes, it will need a WIFI router connected in the same system

Q: In the diagram in the manual it shows the IP control box with only an Internet connection, does a PC plug into it?
A:
Yes, the control PC uses a LAN cable connected to the same network switch

Q: You also recommend Managed POE switches, correct?
A:
We tested on several POE network switches and so far both of the managed POE or the non-managed POE network are working well. But the managed network switch is more stable and it's fanless which is quieter.
