7K recording and flexible framing
Record internally in 12-bit Cinema RAW Light at up to 7K 60p, or capture slow-motion footage at up to 4K 120p in supported modes. Full-frame 3:2 open-gate recording at up to 30p gives editors extra room to frame horizontal and vertical versions from the same shot.
Full-frame imaging and RF lenses
The C50 offers Dual Base ISO settings of 800 and 6400 in Canon Log 2 for different lighting conditions. Its RF mount accepts Canon RF lenses directly, while Photo mode captures approximately 32-megapixel still images.
Autofocus for moving subjects
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II provides subject detection and tracking, including face and eye detection. Autofocus remains available in supported high-frame-rate modes, including 4K 120p, for filming movement and action.
Audio controls close at hand
The included detachable handle adds two full-size XLR inputs, a recording start/stop button, and a zoom rocker. Use the handle for microphone connections during interviews and location shoots, or remove it when a smaller camera setup is needed.
Recording and remote-control options
Choose Cinema RAW Light, XF-AVC, XF-AVC S, or XF-HEVC S to suit your editing workflow. CFexpress Type B and SD slots support main, sub-recording, and proxy options depending on the selected format. Canon XC protocol enables IP control over Wi-Fi or a compatible USB-C Ethernet adapter.
