This rack mountable 8x8 Component Video Matrix Switcher is designed to work as a switcher for up to 8 video sources going to up to 8 displays. It competes with 8X8 component video matrix switchers that sell for >$2,000.
The unit does not have audio so if you need that see our 8X8 Component Video + Digital / Analog Audio Matrix Switcher or buy 2.
Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs or any combination.
READ THIS CAREFULLY: This 8X8 matrix switcher was designed as a 8X8 "composite video and audio" (with yellow, red & white connectors) switcher using 300MHz video amps on all inputs and outputs.
It works very well as a 8X8 "component video" matrix switcher because of those amps but does not switch audio as those inputs / outputs are used for the other 2 cables needed for the 3 wire red - green - blue component signal.
The colors of the connectors will not be matched also. You will have to hook the red video cable up with the red input, blue video cable up with the white input and the green video cable wires to the yellow input as this is the sync cable. If you change the order it may not work correctly.
If you need an 8X8 component video matrix switcher and don't need audio this is an incredible find & buy! We have sold 100's to bars, restaurants and home theater users w/o one return.
If you need to switch audio now or in the future just buy another one to switch the audio or see our 1080p 8X8 Component Video + Digital / Analog Audio Matrix Switcher w/RS-232 + IR Remote.
We do not warranty this unit with long cheap component video cables. Do not use this 8X8 matrix switcher with long runs of RG-59, or similar, high capacitance cables. Only use our component video cables or good RG-6 quad shield cables. We also recommend only soldered connectors and not crimp-on, due to their high capacitance, if you are making your own cables.
Print this out when you order one and have it handy for your installation.
This component matrix switcher is capable of switching 8 component signals only (no audio) between eight sources
and eight displays with compatible inputs. A maximum bandwidth of 300MHz will
support a sharp and highly defined video. Because it is a matrix switcher, it
allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed
to all outputs or any combination.
It completely eliminates the need to constantly
move around video input and output cables. RS-232 control allows the switcher
to be controlled by a computerized system such as HTPC and in this case eliminates
the need for an infrared remote control.
This Component Video Matrix Switch can be used with the video (only) outputs of:
- Any high definition Dish Network and DirecTV receiver with component outputs
- High definition TiVo' swith component outputs
- Any high definition cable receiver with component outputs
- Canadian Rogers, Shaw, Bell ExpressVu and Star Choice receivers with component outputs
- Any "Over The Air" (OTA) high definition receiver with component outputs
- WII, Sony PS2 and PS3, HD DVD and Blu-ray DVD players with component outputs
- Any Xbox360 with component outputs
- Any upconverting DVD player with component outputs
- Any DVHS VCR with component outputs
- An APPLE TV with component outputs
- Any PC video card with (Y-Pb-Pr, check your manual) component outputs
- Any high definition camcorder with component outputs
- Many A/V surround sound receivers with component switching.
- and other similar devices.
The 8:8 Matrix Switcher works with
all video equipment that has proper component connections such as Cable and Satellite
receivers, Computers, Video Survalence, DVD players, VCR's and so on.

Note 1: This unit does not transcode the video signal. For example, a Y-Pb-Pr input from a DVD player cannot be switched & converted to a Y-Cb-Cr computer device.
Note 2: We do not warranty this unit with long cheap component video cables. Do not use this 8X8 matrix switcher with long runs of RG-59, or similar, high capacitance cables. Only use our component video cables or good RG-6 quad shield cables. We also recommend only soldered connectors and not crimp-on, due to their high capacitance, if you are making your own cables.
Note 3: All TV's should be calibrated whether you buy this device or not. Use our AVIA II calibration DVD to set the video to its optimum value.
Note 4: The switcher can't be stacked with another to make a 16X16 matrix switcher. If you need more inputs buy another and wire them in parallel. If you need a 16X16 see our 16X16 component matrix switcher.
Note 5: One must remember that this is a composite matrix switcher, not component, and even though the amps are 300 MHz there are other factors that determine picture quality. If you want the utmost in picture quality on an 8X8 component matrix switcher then you should buy one dedicated to component switching. If you have a budget issue and or in an environment, like a bar or restaurant, where a small step down would not be noticeable than this is for you.
Why not buy this 8x8 Component Video ( only ) Matrix Switcher today?
