Q: What is 4Kx2K?
A: The HDMI 1.4 specification adds support for extremely high video resolutions that go far beyond today's 1080p systems. 4Kx2K, 4K for short, is 4,096 lines wide by 2,160 lines high or roughly four times the resolution of a 1080p display and is double the number of lines of a typical HD picture, and more than double the number of pixels across the screen –so over four times the resolution. This 1-4 HDMI Splitter has been designed to support 4K as it has four times the signal bandwidth and memory needed for 3D that doesn't require glasses. It supports todays needs and future 4K products.

Q: Will this 1-4 HDMI Splitter with HDMI 1.4 compliancy work with only one display turned ON?
A: Yes, the four outputs are independent and the 1-4 HDMI Splitter works even when only one display is turned ON. Many HDMI splitters have synchronized outputs which require all displays to be turned ON at the same time for those splitters to work.

Q: This 1-4 HDMI Splitter compliancy has CEC, what is CEC?
A: This 1-4 HDMI Splitter with HDMI 1.4 compliancy features CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) allowing your HDTV's remote to manage up to ten devices that are connected via HDMI (such as Blu-ray Disc players or home theater receivers) with no special programming needed. For example, you can use your remote to turn on your TV, your player, and your receiver at the same time, and adjust the system volume with one button. All devices must support CEC, though.

Most major TV manufacturers now support CEC, and an HDTV with HDMI 1.3 will likely have the technology. Manufacturers call it by different names; LG Electronics, for instance, calls its implementation SimpleLink, whereas Toshiba calls its version CE-Link. Interoperability isn't mandatory, so some manufacturers limit control to their own products; Sony, for one, allows only Sony-to-Sony communication.
