This 4X4 HDMI Matrix Switch w/both CAT-5 & HDMI outputs sends HDMI from any of 4-HDMI sources to any of 4 displays over either CAT5E/6 or HDMI cables (4 maximum outputs). Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs, or any combination. The matrix switch comes bundled with 4 - CAT5 to HDMI receivers.
4X4 HDMI Matrix Switch with both CAT-5E/6 and HDMI Outputs Features:
The matrix switch comes bundled with 4 - CAT5 to HDMI receivers. Each of the 4 output zones include one HDMI output and one dual-RJ45 output but only one connector can be used at a time, either HDMI or CAT5. Each of the 4 zones are independent and can be either CAT5 or HDMI. The matrix switch comes bundled with 4 - CAT5 to HDMI receivers if you use those outputs. Receivers other than those included cannot be used as the chip sets must be matched. A receiver picture is shown below. Full 1080p High-Resolution HDMI HDTV signals are supported up to a resolution of 1080p over an approximate distance of 100 feet over a pair of CAT5E/6 cables and 50 feet with our large gauge HDMI cables. Every source and display is accessible at all times by selecting it with an IR remote control or through the RS232 port. NOTE 1: Each input includes an infrared emitter, which is used to control the HDMI matrix switch and source devices by a remote control. The IR eye goes at the matrix switch and each receiver has a built in IR eye. All IR Extenders and IR emitters performs the normal distance up to 15 feet in any given room. If installed with various components across different rooms, the IR signals are transported over cat5 via the receivers extending IR signals up to 130 ft (40m). The IR repeater works well with single band remotes but may not work with multi-band remotes used on many satellite boxes. Look for 2 emitters on the nose of the remote. If you are pre-wiring make sure to run a 3rd cat5 cable so you can add an IR system that can handle multi-band remotes. If you have multi-band remotes you might want to upgrade your remotes to UHF, which goes through walls. This will bypass the IR system completely on the matrix. Most of our "no picture" support calls are due to poor quality and cheap or poorly made cables. Since it is high definition video we only recommend CAT5/6 cables with specs like our CAT-5 /6 cables either bought from us or another high quality supplier. We also recommend, if possible, pre-made cables that are factory tested vs. field made cables due to the advanced testing methods used. NOTE 3: 2 - UTP/STP cables must be used with this device as the 19 HDMI wires are converted to the 2 - CAT5 cables. NOTE 4: This HDMI switcher is compatible with HDTV's with 120 Hz frame rates and above and Blu-ray, HD-DVD DVD players etc. with a 24 Hz frame rate. Control of this 4X4 HDMI Matrix Switch with both CAT-5E/6 and HDMI Outputs can be managed via its IR remote control, RS-232, or our optional RS-232 to Ethernet Converter. The RS-232 to Ethernet Converter allows control of the unit from anywhere in the world given you know how to write RS-232 code and have the correct serial Ethernet hardware.
