The Video Storm TMDS61 6 to 1 HDMI and DVI switcher is the most affordable AND most compatible digital video switch available today.  At the heart of this product is a cutting edge active TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) switch instead of the typical DVI or HDMI decoder & encoder.

Note: This unit can be used as a 6X1 HDMI switcher with HDMI audio over the DVI connection together with separate digital audio switching if you don't requite CEC checking on the DVI line. Most applications don't need it. Again, the DVI signal will carry the audio signal giving you a 6X1 auto-sensing HDMI switcher + digital audio for <$175.

The active amplifiers in the TMDS61 actually improve the signal quality reducing the jitter and restoring the full amplitude swing. The output of the TMDS61 after a 15 foot cable is much cleaner. The TMDS61 is even capable of receiving and retransmitting the signal from a 30 foot cable.

This HDMI switcher is HDCP Compliant. HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a standard encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a HDMI display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to �snow� or in some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images.

In order to see HDTV with HDCP compliance, both the source, the display and any device in between must be equipped with HDMI connections that can pass HDCP, such as this HDMI switch.
