| | This 6x2 Component Video Matrix Switch supports 6 Inputs and 2 Outputs of component video, R/L stereo and TOSLINK audio. One set of inputs are on the front for connecting cameras and other portable devices. Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs or any combination.
6X2 Component Video Audio Matrix Switch Features:
EXAMPLE OF USE: Watch a DVD in your den while someone else simultaneously watches high definition cable or satellite in the bedroom. Both the DVD player and the high definition receiver are in the den. Exclusive: The firmware we ship will allow you to buy 2 of our 6x2 Component Video Matrix Switchers of which then can be wired in series one level (one time) giving you 6+5=11 inputs and 1+2=3 outputs. Of course they are all not matrixed and to understand the in's and out's please draw yourself a block diagram or call us at 800-841-9238. The matrix switcher will also have to be operated from the front panel as the 2 included remote controls operate both units simultaneously. Also, one short component video + audio cable must be purchased from the above options to connect the 2 units. The connection is from one of the outputs to one of the inputs of the other unit. NOTE 1: We only ship the the latest firmware in the 6X2 Component Video Audio Matrix Switch which is unavailable from other companies. NOTE 2: This 6X2 Component Video Matrix Switch can also be used as a 6X2 composite (yellow) + red and white analog right and left audio matrix switcher. Component and composite cannot me mixed, it's either one or the other in the use of the matrix switcher. The matrix switcher does not do composite/component conversion, so component input devices must be viewed through the component-connected output, and composite input devices must be viewed through the composite-connected output. Due to the fact that the device has two separate, distinct output channels, you can run component video cabling out one output (as the product is marketed) and composite video out the other (taking advantage of simple signal pass-thru on the green/Y plug), and you've got a hybrid component/composite/optical A/V switch. The right and left audio, though, cannot be shared as there is only one right and left audio ins and outs. Having two outputs is nice because you now can hook up a composite source and still use the other 5 component inputs. The remote has discreet IR codes for power on, power off, all 6 inputs to output 1, and all 6 inputs to output 2 (14 total buttons). So, you people with Harmony remotes and the like are going to love this thing. The remote has discreet IR codes for power on, power off, all 6 inputs to output 1, and all 6 inputs to output 2 (14 total buttons). It is completely compatible with my Logitech Harmony remote. The remote codes are already in the Harmony system (although Harmony for some reason refers to blue and red buttons instead of the green and red buttons on the IA remote). This 6x2 Component Video Matrix Switch offers six component video inputs, six stereo audio inputs, and six optical digital audio TOSlink inputs. If you have RCA digital audio inputs just buy the above Digital RCA to optical audio adapter. It will switch all of these inputs to either of the two outputs along with the audio. It comes complete with an infrared remote control that features discrete commands to make programming complex macros into your universal remote control system a snap. Now you can take control of your system and watch what you want, where you want, and do it with no compromises! The rear of the unit has 5 inputs and 2 outputs. Each input/output includes a set of component video jacks, audio L/R jacks, and a TOSLINK optical audio jack. They are all clearly labeled and spaced enough to make hookup a breeze. There is an additional input (INPUT 6) on the front of the unit, which is really great for hooking up the occasional video camera or video game without having to climb behind your rack. The 6X2 Component Video Audio Matrix Switch has the latest firmware un-available from other companies. Also on the front panel is a mode button, that lets you select between inputs and outputs. This button is illuminated, and the color designates which output you are controlling. Each of the 6 input selection buttons are also illuminated for the same reason. Finally, rounding out the front panel is the power button which turns the matrix switch on and off. It easy to operate this 6X2 Component Video Audio Matrix Switch. Just turn on the power, push the button for INPUT 1, 2, or 6, and you will be able to watch whichever source you wanted without having to change the input. You can send a different source to each of the two outputs, or the same source to both. Controlling this is accomplished via a clever lighting system built in to the clear input buttons on the front panel. The mode button and each of the input buttons have 3 colors that operate as follows: Green will route the selected input to Output 1. Red will route the selected input to Output 2. Orange will route the selected input to both outputs. Similarly, the remote is color coded (although not illuminated). There is a green line of six numbered input buttons, and a red line of six input buttons. Pushing the appropriate button (number) will route the chosen source to Output 1 or 2 accordingly. NOTE 3: This 6X2 component video matrix switcher does not convert L/R audio to TOSLINK or TOSLINK to L/R audio.
