The Video Storm TMDS61 6 to 1 HDMI and DVI switcher is the most affordable AND most compatible digital video switch available today. At the heart of this product is a cutting edge active TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) switch instead of the typical DVI or HDMI decoder & encoder.

Note: This unit can be used as a 6X1 HDMI switcher with HDMI audio over the DVI connection together with separate digital audio switching if you don't requite CEC checking on the DVI line. Most applications don't need it. Again, the DVI signal will carry the audio signal giving you a 6X1 auto-sensing HDMI switcher + digital audio for <$250.

The active amplifiers in the TMDS61 actually improve the signal quality reducing the jitter and restoring the full amplitude swing. The output of the TMDS61 after a 15 foot cable is much cleaner. The TMDS61 is even capable of receiving and retransmitting the signal from a 30 foot cable.

Ideal for the Xbox's & Playstation 3 with HDMI outputs: The TMDS61 is one of the few switches on the market that is compatible with ALL the features in HDMI 1.3. Most 1.3 compliant switches support only the mandatory features. The TMDS61 will pass ALL the features, including the Deep Color enhanced video delivered by the Xbox360's and the Playstation PS3! The HDMI 1.3 & above compliancy allow these features:

Higher speed: HDMI 1.3 increases its single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands of future HD display devices, such as higher resolutions, Deep Color and high frame rates. In addition, built into the HDMI 1.3 specification is the technical foundation that will let future versions of HDMI reach significantly higher speeds.
Deep Color: HDMI 1.3 supports 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit (RGB or Y-Cb-Cr) color depths, up from the 8-bit depths in previous versions of the HDMI specification, for stunning rendering of over one billion colors in unprecedented detail.
Broader color space: HDMI 1.3 adds support for x.v.Color (which is the consumer name describing the IEC 61966-2-4 xvYCC color standard), which removes current color space limitations and enables the display of any color viewable by the human eye.
New mini connector: With small portable devices such as HD camcorders and still cameras demanding seamless connectivity to HDTVs, HDMI 1.3 offers a new, smaller form factor connector option.
Lip Sync: Because consumer electronics devices are using increasingly complex digital signal processing to enhance the clarity and detail of the content, synchronization of video and audio in user devices has become a greater challenge and could potentially require complex end-user adjustments. HDMI 1.3 incorporates automatic audio synching capabilities that allows devices to perform this synchronization automatically with total accuracy.
New HD lossless audio formats: In addition to HDMIs current ability to support high-bandwidth uncompressed digital audio and all currently-available compressed formats (such as Dolby Digital and DTS), HDMI 1.3 adds additional support for new lossless compressed digital audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

NOTE: The TMDS61 will only work with computers when the computer output is DVI-D digital or DVI-I (digital only), not DVI-A analog.

This new technology enables the DVI and HDMI switcher to switch and amplify the signals only at the electrical level, while leaving the protocol and encryption levels completely unchanged! The result is a lower cost product which is fully compatible with all current AND future forms of DVI and HDMI.

The HDMI switcher will not only support a fast 150 MHz 1080p signal but of course will support todays resolutions of 480i / 480p / 720p and 1080i.

A further benefit is you never need to worry about future HDCP encryption problems or incompatibilities as this switch does not modify the source to display interaction in any way.

This HDMI switcher is HDCP Compliant. HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a standard encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a HDMI display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to snow or in some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images.

In order to see HDTV with HDCP compliance, both the source, the display and any device in between must be equipped with HDMI connections that can pass HDCP, such as this HDMI switch.

CAUTION: Separate stereo right and left audio is not supported in this HDMI / DVI switcher but only through the DVI / HDMI connection..
