This 4X1 HDMI comes with Optical & COAX digital audio and right and left stereo outputs. It is designed to work as a switcher for multiple sources to one display and sends the simultaneously separate stereo, digital coax and digital optical audio to a surround sound receiver. This HDMI 1.3b matrix switcher works with all HDMI 1.3 versions and below.

See the above front and back pictures and the HDMI switch includes a remote control. One HDMI input is on the front panel for a camcorder or Flip recorder input if they have the appropriate HDMI outputs.

The 4X1 HDMI switcher switches the incoming HDMI signal into the standard HDMI audio / video signal as well as converts its associated stereo, SPDIF and Optical audio to outputs. You then can route this digital audio to your surround sound receiver and the stereo to older amps or headphones.

NOTE: Since this 4x1 HDMI Switch w/Audio decodes the digital audio in the HDMI data stream your source devices MUST be set up correctly to get sound. Go in to the source devices AUDIO MENU and experiment with ALL the settings. Do the same with the HDTV and any surround sound receiver.

The SPDIF and Optical audio outputs are LPCM 2-channel, Dolby 5.1 or DTS 5.1. Please refer to each of the manuals of your source devices on how to set the audio.
