An HDMI 1.3a rating gives you:
Higher speed: HDMI 1.3 increases its single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands of future 1440p HD display devices, such as higher resolutions, Deep Color and high frame rates. In addition, built into the HDMI 1.3 specification is the technical foundation that will let future versions of HDMI reach significantly higher speeds.
Deep Color: HDMI 1.3 supports 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths, up from the 8-bit depths in previous versions of the HDMI specification, for stunning rendering of over one billion colors in unprecedented detail.
Broader color space: HDMI 1.3 adds support for “x.v.Color™” (which is the consumer name describing the IEC 61966-2-4 xvYCC color standard), which removes current color space limitations and enables the display of any color viewable by the human eye.
New mini connector: With small portable devices such as HD camcorders and still cameras demanding seamless connectivity to HDTVs, HDMI 1.3 offers a new, smaller form factor connector option.
Lip Sync: Because consumer electronics devices are using increasingly complex digital signal processing to enhance the clarity and detail of the content, synchronization of video and audio in user devices has become a greater challenge and could potentially require complex end-user adjustments. HDMI 1.3a incorporates automatic audio synching capabilities that allows devices to perform this synchronization automatically with total accuracy.
New HD lossless audio formats: In addition to HDMI’s current ability to support high-bandwidth uncompressed digital audio and all currently-available compressed formats (such as Dolby® Digital and DTS®), HDMI 1.3 adds additional support for new lossless compressed digital audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

The next generation of HDTV's have 1440p resolution, nearly twice what we have today...and todays HDMI cables will not be able to transfer the 1440p signal needed to accommodate this demanding resolution.
Tip: It's always a good practice when using long HDMI cables that are installed in walls to test your HDMI chain out first by laying the cables on the ground and plugging them into you source devices and HDTV before installing them. It's far easier to diagnose problems this way then when they are in the wall.

HDCP copy protection compliant
The wire used in these 1440p tested HDMI cables are a large copper based wires to transmit the fast 1080p signal. The 3 foot to 15 foot HDMI cables are made with a tough net jacket. The HDMI specification handles high-bandwidth, uncompressed video and multi-channel digital audio as well, all in one cable. These cables are HDCP compliant.
They work with both HDMI and DVI (via the above separate adapter and or cable) and supports 480i to 1080p video or computer resolutions from VGA to UXGA.
Some of the longer HDMI cables have an option for tin or silver plating covering each of the 19 wires (100% copper) in the HDMI cable. Tin plating has less resistance and helps to channel the signal to the core of the copper where it would have less chance of signal loss. Silver plating has even less resistance and should be your choice for an optimum picture quality and insurance against future resolution higher than 1080p.
Silver-Plated Conductors: Silver-plating video conductors offer superior conductivity to copper, for the best high-frequency response possible. Since video frequencies are mostly higher frequencies, the signal travels primarily at the surface where the silver-plating is a significant advantage due to higher conductivity. Silver-plating produces a stronger signal, with less loss, better clarity, and richer colors.
The HDMI cable lengths include 1.5 foot to 200 feet and the shorter lengths use a large 24 gauge pure copper wire while the longer lengths can have an immense 22 gauge wire with optional silver plating. The HDMI cables with a booster only need a smaller diameter cable due to the built in amplifier. All 19 center conductor wires are pure copper to support 1080p at longer lengths.
Most (See pricing) of these HDMI cables have a CL2 rating which comes from Underwriters Laboratories (UL). It means that these cables have a slow burning outer jacket and should meet most fire codes and are safe for in-wall installations. The CL2 rating does not affect the appearance or performance of the cables. They can be used in or out of wall.
Our best 1080p HDMI cable has 22 AWG wire and is tin or silver plated. It gives you a better chance of seeing a pristine high definition picture with longer cable lengths without using a 1080p HDMI booster
The 1.5 foot to 35 foot HDMI to HDMI cables support resolutions up to 1440p. The un-powered 50 foot through 100 foot HDMI cables support resolutions up to 1080p. With an HDMI Booster the cables are good for resolutions up to 1440p if your HDMI source can drive a long cable.
Two Models: HDMI 1.3 & 1.3a Compliant:
HDMI 1.3a Category 1 and 2 and HDMI 1.3 increases its single-link bandwidth from 165 MHz (4.95 Gbps) to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands of today high definition display devices.

These 1080p HDMI cables are HDCP Compliant. HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a standard encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a DVI display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to "snow" or in some cases, very low (480p) resolutions of the images.
In order to see HDTV with HDCP compliance, both the source, the display and any device in between must be equipped with HDMI connections that can enable HDCP decoding, such as this 1080p HDMI cable.
These 1080p HDMI Cables Feature:
Supports video resolutions up to 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and 1440p, and data rates of 5Gbps

NOTE: This HDMI cable family is tested to pass a 1080p signal however you might still require a booster depending upon your source device. Some source devices do not have enough voltage and current to drive a long cable. Please see our 1080p HDMI boosters if you feel your HDMI source device can't drive long cables.
(*) NOTE TO PS3 USERS: All Sony Playstation 3's have its default settings set not to HDMI so you should manually change the default AV setting to HDMI before connecting to an HDTV. Please make sure to reboot your PS3 system after the default setting has been changed to HDMI. Also, change the HDTV's default AV source to HDMI before connecting it to PS3.
All of our cables have gold plated connectors which resist corrosion 100 times better then non-plated connectors. Many home theater applications require the cables be installed inside walls, fireplaces or other moisture rich areas and using our gold plated connectors assures you that you will not have any future corrosion issues that may result in a bad high definition picture.

External and internal ferrite coils suppress external spurious signal frequencies up to 500 MHz so they don't get in your high definition signal. Ferrite coil filters provide common-mode filtering is provided on some of the longer HDMI cables.
Secrets of Home Theater said a few months ago:"
HDTV Supply sells all kinds of cables, switchers, and extenders for HDMI and DVI. In the 50 foot HDMI cable version, they offer a tin-plated as well as silver-plated. Silver is a very good conductor, so I would suggest getting that option ($189.95) with a long cable like this (we tested the tin-plated version, not the silver-plated). The cable is quite thick, so it is best suited for placement inside a wall rather than under a rug. As such, it is also a bit less flexible than other cables, but that is not necessarily a problem. The review unit passed the tests with no difficulties. They specify testing to 1080p resolution, but state that you may need an HDMI booster (repeater) with some sources. At less than $200 for this 50 foot HDMI cable, even with the silver-plated conductors, it represents an excellent value."
Your video is only as good as the cable that connects it. Why not buy this 1440p rated HDMI cable today?
