Tip: It's always a good practice when using long HDMI cables that are installed in walls to test your HDMI cables and system chain out first by laying the HDMI cables on the ground and plugging them into you source devices and HDTV before installing them. It's far easier to diagnose problems this way then when the HDMI cables are in the wall. Some of the longer HDMI cables have an option for tin or silver plating covering each of the 19 wires (100% copper) in the HDMI cable. Tin plating has less resistance and helps to channel the signal to the core of the copper where it would have less chance of signal loss. Silver plating has even less resistance and should be your choice for an optimum picture quality and insurance against future resolution higher than 1080p. HDMI 1.3a HDMI Cables rating gives you:
The HDMI cables have lengths including 1.5 foot to 200 feet and the shorter lengths use a large 24 gauge pure copper wire while the longer lengths can have an immense 22 gauge wire with optional silver plating. The HDMI cables with a booster only need a smaller diameter cable due to the built in amplifier. All 19 center conductor wires are pure copper to support 1080p at longer lengths. Most (See pricing) of these HDMI cables have a CL2 rating which comes from Underwriters Laboratories (UL). It means that these cables have a slow burning outer jacket and should meet most fire codes and are safe for in-wall installations. The CL2 rating does not affect the appearance or performance of the cables. The HDMI Cables can be used in or out of wall. Our best HDMI cables have 22 AWG wire and is tin or silver plated. It gives you a better chance of seeing a pristine high definition picture with longer cable lengths without using a 1080p HDMI booster The 1.5 foot to 35 foot HDMI cables support resolutions up to 1440p. The un-powered 50 foot through 100 foot HDMI cables support resolutions up to 1080p. With an HDMI Booster the cables are good for resolutions up to 1440p if your HDMI source can drive a long cable. Models: HDMI 1.3 & 1.3a thru HDMI 1.4 Compliant:
The audio portion of these HDMI cables has been tested and is compliant with the following audio standards:
NOTE: These HDMI cables are compatible with HDTV's with a 120 Hz frame rate and above and Blu-ray, HD-DVD DVD players etc. with a 24 Hz frame rate. These 1080p HDMI cables are HDCP Compliant. HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a standard encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a DVI display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to "snow" or in some cases, very low (480p) resolutions of the images. In order to see HDTV with HDCP compliance, both the source, the display and any device in between must be equipped with HDMI connections that can enable HDCP decoding, such as these HDMI cables. TIP: These HDMI 1.3 cables will work with HDMI 1.4 devices that don't require an Ethernet connection. You should feel comfortable that all of our HDMI cables provided since the release of HDMI v1.3 will support each of the new features offered by v1.4 with the exception of the ethernet channel. There will be a very minor change in the current cables to allow for an HDMI ethernet channel (HEC) but if you are looking to take advantage of the other functions offered by v1.4 you can rest assured that the cables you bought from us already supports all them. All of our HDMI Cables have gold plated connectors which resist corrosion 100 times better then non-plated connectors. Many home theater applications require the cables be installed inside walls, fireplaces or other moisture rich areas and using our gold plated connectors assures you that you will not have any future corrosion issues that may result in a bad high definition picture. External and internal ferrite coils suppress external spurious signal frequencies up to 500 MHz so they don't get in your high definition signal. Ferrite coil filters provide common-mode filtering is provided on some of the longer HDMI cables. Your video is only as good as the HDMI cables that connect your devices.
