This 4X2 HDMI matrix switcher lets you switch between 4 HDMI sources and send any 2 of those inputs to 2 independent outputs. The unit is tiny but well built and it ships with a remote control. Compare it with other HDMI matrix switchers and you'll find their prices are thousands more.
Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs, or any combination.
EXAMPLE: Watch a DVD in your den while someone else simultaneously watches high definition cable or satellite in the bedroom. Both the DVD player and the high definition receiver are in the den.
This 4X2 HDMI Matrix Switcher supports HDMI 1.3 including resolutions up to 1080p, 10.2Gbps data transfer, and deep color. It also supports audio transported digital audio formats of LPCM / Dolby-AC3 / DTS7.1 / DSD audio.
NOTE 1: This HDMI switcher is compatible with HDTV's with a 120 Hz frame rate and Blu-ray, HD-DVD DVD players etc. with a 24 Hz frame rate.
NOTE 2: This HDMI matrix switcher does have an input/output booster, but, it may not work with cheap small gauge HDMI cables. We recommend only 24 gauge cables up to 25 foot, 22 gauge up to 50 feet or HDMI cables with a built in booster over 50 feet. In fact, never buy a 28 or 30 gauge cable if you want perfect troublesome video.
This HDMI switcher supports up to 1080p, the highest resolution available with the PS3 and many new HDTV's.

How the 4 x 2 HDMI Matrix Switcher Works: You simply connect the 4 sources to the Matrix switcher inputs. Then connect 2 displays to the Matrix switcher outputs. Once the sources, the matrix and the displays are powered and connected, you simply select which sources you want to view on which displays using the IR remote.

- and other similar devices.
This HDMI switcher is HDCP Compliant. HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a standard encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a HDMI display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to snow or in some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images.
Multi-channel digital audio and high definition video are fed to the display by each source (shown below), when selected. Users have the option of switching sources using front panel buttons or the IR remote that comes with the unit.
TIPS TO INSTALL THIS HDMI MATRIX SWITCHER:
- Turn off all devices that plug into the unit. Unplug the DVR if you have one.
- Install only one device and one HDTV. Turn them ON.
- Wait up to 15 seconds to allow the first install to grab the HDCP handshake.
- If you don't get a picture move the HDMI cable to another input until you do waiting 15 seconds.
- If you still don't get a picture, move the output HDMI cable to another output.
- Add the 2nd device using the above tips.
- In order to see HDTV with HDCP compliance, both the source, the cable, the display and any device in between must be equipped with HDMI connections that can enable HDCP decoding, such as this 1080p HDMI matrix switcher, or you will not see a picture.
The remotes A and B buttons cycle the respective outputs through the connected inputs. See the above picture.
This HDMI switch can also be used to switch DVI using the above DVI to HDMI cables or the above DVI to HDMI adapters. DVI does not transmit audio so you must wire it separately.
