This 4X2 HDMI matrix switch with booster lets you switch between 4 HDMI sources and send any 2 of those inputs to 2 independent outputs. The unit is well built and it ships with a remote control. Compare it with other HDMI matrix switchers and you'll find their prices are hundreds more. The 4-in, 2-out HDMI matrix switch switches HDMI signals in any of 16 combination's. Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs, or any combination.

EXAMPLE: Watch a DVD in your den while someone else simultaneously watches high definition cable or satellite in the bedroom. Both the DVD player and the high definition receiver are in the den.

How the HDMI Matrix Switch with booster Works:

You simply connect the 4 sources to the Matrix switcher inputs. Then connect 2 displays to the Matrix switcher outputs. Once the sources, the matrix and the displays are powered and connected, you simply select which sources you want to view on which displays using the IR remote control.

The audio portion of this HDMI switcher is compliant with the following audio standards:

  • Dolby Digital
  • Dolby Digital Plus
  • Dolby TrueHD
  • DTS
  • DTS-HD
This HDMI switcher with Booster is HDCP Compliant. HDCP (high bandwidth digital content protection) is a standard encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a HDMI display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to snow or in some cases, very low (480p) resolutions of the images.

Multi-channel digital audio and high definition video are fed to the display by each source (shown below), when selected. Users have the option of switching sources using front panel buttons or the IR remote that comes with the unit.

TIPS TO INSTALL THIS HDMI MATRIX SWITCH WITH BOOSTER:

  1. Unplug all devices that plug into the unit including the above HDMI switcher.
  2. Install only one device and one HDTV. Turn them ON.
  3. Wait up to 15 seconds to allow the first install to grab the HDCP handshake.
  4. If you don't get a picture move the HDMI cable to another input until you do waiting 15 seconds.
  5. If you still don't get a picture, move the output HDMI cable to another output.
  6. Add the 2nd device using the above tips.
  7. In order to see HDTV with HDCP compliance, both the source, the cable, the display and any device in between must be equipped with HDMI connections that can enable HDCP decoding, such as this 1080p HDMI matrix switcher, or you will not see a picture.
  8. The older the HDMI gear the more handshaking problems are likely. Cable boxes are among the worst. Powering off the switcher usually helps. Make certain not to send a video signal to a display which is out of range like 1080p signal to a 720p projector.

Why not buy the HDMI matrix Switch with Booster today?

To ensure 3D Blu-ray or 4K content is routed via the Matrix, High Speed HDMI cables must be used and any connected non-3D or non-4K compatible display must not have an "active" HDMI output (i.e. powered off or in standby mode). The 4K or 3D source player must not be able to "see" a 2D or non-4K only display connected to the Matrix.

Q: Will your HDMI Matrix Switch allow a DirecTV or Time Warner Cable to show a TV program in 2D to a 3D capable display and at the same time, allow a Blu-Ray to show 3D on a different 3D display?
A:
Yes, any 3D capable display will accept a 2D signal and this 4-4 HDMI Matrix Switcher does discriminate against 2D or 3D.
