This DVI to CAT5 converter allows a high-quality DVI (digital visual interface) signal to be transmitted up to 150 feet over two Cat 5 cables (one shielded, one unshielded). The DVI is HDCP compliant, supports standard HDTV and VESA resolutions, and supports the DDWG standard for DVI compliant monitors.

The DVI to CAT5 converter is HDCP compatible; however, you must verify your source and destination devices support (or don't support) HDCP encryption. Essentially, HDCP compliant devices will only transmit to or receive from other devices with HDCP coding. The device will also work if neither device is HDCP compatible.

The DVI connector is a dual link DVI-I connector. DVI-I connectors which allows for the transmission of both digital and analog (VGA) signals.

Application 1 (below): A laptop computer is connected to a remote plasma via these send and receive DVI baluns and two runs of Cat 5 cabling. Note that the DDC feed is via unshielded Cat 5 and the video feed is via shielded Cat 5. The DVI balun system is powered on the send end.

Application 2: A laptop computer is connected to a projector via these send and receive DVI baluns and two runs of Cat 5 cabling. Note that the DDC feed is via unshielded Cat 5 and the video feed is via shielded Cat 5.

The DVI to CAT5 Converter system is powered on the send end. Each DVI to CAT5 adapter contains a send balun, a receive balun, a power supply, and a six foot DVI cable.
