This is a 4X16 HDMI Matrix Switcher over both HDMI & CAT5 / CAT6 Outs. The 8 - outputs are mirrored STP/UTP and HDMI allowing this 4X8X2 matrix switcher to extend to 16 outputs. Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs, or any combination. Its CAT5 to HDMI receivers are un-bundled and optional and you must use HDMI output cables if you don't buy them.

This 4 in 8 out HDMI Matrix Switcher has 8 - UTP/STP and 8 - HDMI outputs. If both the UTP and standard HDMI outputs are fully used, the number of total outputs can be up to 16...8 HDMI outputs and 8 - CAT5 outputs. This 4X16 HDMI Matrix Switcher integrates the HDMI signal, IR control, TCP/IP and RS485 all together. The outputs are mirrored STP/UTP and HDMI and the UTP CAT5 type outputs used with only the above CAT5 to HDMI receivers. Other HDMI receivers CANNOT be used as the chip sets must match. Also, HDMI cables do not come with the receivers as we do not know the length you would need.

This 4X16 HDMI Matrix Switcher is sufficient to manage a small home theater system, which will deliver the HD video and audio to eight locations. The RS232 control allows the switcher to be controlled by 3rd party control systems like Crestron, AMX and Control4, or any computerized software/hardware control systems.

LAN Operation: There is a button 'set IP' on the user interface of the RS232 control software. The user can set the matrix in a static IP mode or an auto IP mode.

While using UTP type cable to connect the sink, the user can remote control the matrix itself or the source from the sink side via an IR receiver. The function of the IR control is also based on the routing function. So that you can configure the system much easier than using simple point to point IR connection. To have a secured normal HDMI cable connection, a mounting nut is added on each standard HDMI output port for fixing the cable.

This 4X8 HDMI Matrix Switcher needs only 2 - UTP CAT5 or CAT6 cables when using the above single UTP receivers. A large scale HDMI network via minimum UTP cables can be built.

User Adjustable Extended Display Identification (EDID) Data is a VESA standard data format that contains basic information about a HDTV and its capabilities, including vendor information, maximum image size, color characteristics, factory pre-set timings, frequency range limits, and character strings for the monitor name and serial number.

The information is stored in the display and is used to communicate with the system through a Display Data Channel (DDC), which sites between the monitor and the source device.
