HDMI is a digital signal interface while most of VGA signals that you can find on devices are analog signals. A simple cable will not work, and you need an electronic converter device.
HDMI is purely digital (1's and 0's) signal while VGA is completely analog (waveforms) so an HDMI to VGA Cable won't work.
The HDMI digital signal sent through 19 digital lines in the HDMI cable and delivered via the HDMI connector cannot be used by any analog VGA display that uses an analog signal input lines.
This HDMI to VGA Cable doesn't work because:
- HDMI is digital and the VGA output is analog so an HDMI to VGA Cable won't work.
- HDMI has 19 pins and the VGA has only 15 so an HDMI to VGA Cable won't work.
- HDMI has the HDCP copy protection signal whereas there is no VGA equivalent so an HDMI to VGA Cable won't work.
- A cable is a passive device made up of 2 connectors, solder and wires. It cannot convert one signal type into another so an HDMI to VGA Cable won't work.
This HDMI to VGA Cable does not work and there is no such thing so don't get ripped off and buy one!
