HDTV Surge Protector designed especially for HDTV's
HDTV Supply, Inc. announces the first product in a new line of HDTV Surge Protectors and AC Conditioners designed principally for HDTV applications. If you have a rear projection, DLP, plasma, or LCD HDTV you should seriously consider buying our Surge Protectors to protect your HDTV from power surges and filter parasite HDTV frequencies from impacting your HDTV image.

Other HDTV Surge Protector features include:

  • Listed and approved by Underwriter's Laboratories.
  • Built-in 15 amp circuit breaker with a reset feature to safely shut off the surge suppressor should an overload or short circuit occur.
  • Lighted master on/off switch.
  • Six switch controlled outlets, all with surge and spike protection on the Surge Protector.
  • Protection Indicator Lamp.
  • HDTV / EMI / RFI / Noise Filtering.
  • Heavy duty line cord with molded plug.
  • Rugged metal housing with protective baked enamel finish.
  • Modem telephone line surge protection.
  • One Year Warranty.
They were designed to exclude an RF connector as a high definition signal should be kept as far away from an AC circuitry as possible.

Q: Why do you sell different AC cord lengths for the Surge Protector? A: Ideally, all your home theater products should be on the same surge protector to prevent ground loops. A ground loop can cause hum through your speakers and moving diagonal bars seen on your HDTV. Look at our different surge protector AC cord lengths and try to put all your devices on one surge protector that is plugged into only one wall outlet.

Q: Why do I need a surge protector designed for HDTV applications? A: The frequencies inherent in HDTV applications are far higher than regular TV signals. 1080p, 1080i and 720p are frequencies well above 150 MHz (150,000,000 cycles/sec) and poor cables, connectors and equipment can cause that to leak into your AC power wiring and impact your HDTV picture. These surge protectors low-pass filter completely eliminates all signals that shouldn't be there other than the 60 Hz AC signal to operate your equipment.

Q: What is a low-pass filter in a Surge Protector? A: An electronic filter that allows only the frequencies lower than a given point to be passed, eliminating all frequencies above it. The exact filter point in this HDTV-focused surge protector only allow the AC frequency of 60 Hz to pass and stop any garbage on the line above that frequency, including those above 1080p frequencies that may have leaked in.

Q: What makes this surge protector different than what I can get elsewhere? A: We have 3-MOV's (Metal Oxide Varistors) in our Surge Protectors which protect your expensive HDTV equipment. Other surge protectors either don't have a MOV or have only one. Your equipment is triple-protected!

Q: What is a MOV? A: a MOV is a small electronic component which is used for voltage protection. The role of the MOV is to divert surge current. The MOV is put in place to clamp transient voltages thus diverting a potentially high surge current from entering the main circuit causing component failure. This is done by applying the device across the circuit to be protected. At low voltages the MOV has a very high resistance, passing very little current. At high clamping voltages the MOV has very low resistance, causing the voltage surge to travel into the MOV suppressing the applied voltage.

Q: Will I be able to see a difference in my HDTV picture? A: Maybe, maybe not, as it depends upon how good your equipment and cables are...now and in the future. We guess that 30% of the installed HDTV's need this Surge Protector for an improved picture quality and all need it to protect the equipment from power surges.

The surge suppressor is designed for use with 110-125 volt AC power systems and is for indoor use only. This unit MUST BE connected to a three prong, properly GROUNDED outlet. Do not remove or disable the third (ground) prong on the plug.

Protect your expensive home theater with this HDTV Surge Protector designed especially for high definition equipment. Why not buy one now?
