This SDI to HDMI Cable customer service page helps prevent you buying the cable and getting ripped off as they cannot work. This SDI to HDMI Cable does not work and there is no cable that will convert SDI to HDMI. HDMI is a parallel digital signal interface while SDI signals are serial and you will need an electronic converter device with an AC adapter.

If you need to convert an SDI signal via a coax cable to HDMI see our SDI to HDMI Converter.

HDMI is a parallel digital (1's and 0's) signal while SDI is a serial signal and a passive cable cannot convert digital signal into HDMI as a cable is a passive device made up of wire, solder and 2 connectors. The HDMI digital signal through 19 digital lines in the HDMI cable and cannot be used by any SDI signal input lines.

This SDI to HDMI Cable doesn't work because:

  1. HDMI has 19 pins whereas SDI has only a center conductor and a shield so an SDI to HDMI Cable won't work.
  2. HDMI has the HDCP copy protection signal whereas there is no SDI equivalent so a SDI to HDMI Cable won't work.
  3. A cable is a passive device made up of 2 connectors, solder and wires. It cannot convert one signal type into another so a SDI to HDMI Cable can't work.

This SDI to HDMI Cable does not work and there is no such thing so don't get ripped off and buy one!
