This converts HDMI over CAT-5. The HDMI over CAT-5 supports up to 1080p at >100 feet at HDMI 1.4 compliancy. It transfers an infrared control signal together with the HDMI audio and video signal. Its chip set uses the latest User Adjustable EDID function to assure compatibility with many TV's.

Extended Display Identification (EDID) Data is a VESA standard data format that contains basic information about a HDTV and its capabilities, including vendor information, maximum image size, color characteristics, factory pre-set timings, frequency range limits, and character strings for the monitor name and serial number. The information is stored in the display and is used to communicate with the system through a Display Data Channel (DDC ), which sites between the monitor and the source device. The system uses this information for configuration purposes, so the HDTV and system can work together.

EDID Nomenclature:

• LONG CABLE MODE = It means a signal without HDCP
• NORMAL MODE = It means a signal with HDCP
• Force signal output = That means the signal will be forced to be without HDCP
