If you are seeing COLOR BARS, then your computer's settings need to be adjusted.
What to do on your computer...
Go to the Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel Click on the "Display" icon Click on the "Settings" tab On this tab, there is a section called "Screen Resolution". The resolutions are labeled by HORIZONTAL PIXELS x VERTICAL PIXELS. (example: 1024 x 768) Choose a compatible resolution and click apply. A screen will popup that says "your computer will revert to your old settings in 15 seconds..." You want to keep the settings, so click ok/accept.
Other Things To Try
USB power adapter is not plugged in: With the computer OFF, connect the USB power adapter into a usb port of the laptop/desktop. The TV/projector is not set to the correct channel. The TV looks fine during boot-up. But once the PC enters Windows, all I see is black and white horizontal wavy lines.
The display adapter (computer video card) is set to a refresh rate that is not supported by the "PC to Video EZ". The following procedure is required on most typical systems.
Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel Click on the "Display" icon Click on the "Settings" tab Click on the "Advanced" button Click on the "Adapter" tab Change the Refresh Rate from "Optimal" to "Adapter Default" or "60Hz" Click "Apply" button
(Note: your PC may require a different procedure...refer to your computer's manual for "adjusting the refresh rate")
Q: How can I enhance the display quality? A: You can usually decrease the TV contrast and increase the brightness control to get a better picture.
Q: I have an older model of a television. Would I be able to use my video converter with an older television? A: Yes, you may need a VCR or special adapter called an RF modulator. This device converts the composite video signal from your video converter to an Antenna signal, which can be viewed on your TV using Channel 3, 4, or 13.
Question: How do I use my VCR as an RF modulator? Answer:
Install and interconnect the "PC to Video EZ" normally, but connect the composite-video cable to the VCR's "Video In" jack instead of to the TV. Turn on the VCR and the TV. Switch the TV to the channel that receives VCR inputs. Play a tape for a moment on the VCR to make sure you can see the program on the TV screen, then remove the tape. Consult your VCR manual to find out how to set the "input source" mode for the VCR. (Generally, they have two or three input sources: 1. "TV, Cable, and Tuner"; 2. "Video In"/"Aux"; and sometimes one called "Tape".) Set the input source to "Video In"/"Aux". Your TV should now display the images from your "PC to Video EZ".
Question: Can I use multiple televisions to view the same image from my computer? A: Yes, "PC to Video EZ" provides 1 CVBS OUT and 1 S-VHS OUT. You may connect one television to the next using a composite video cable or an S-Video between the "Video-In" and "Video-Out" ports. We recommend using no more than five or six televisions.
