This converter will convert a DVI-A Female connection to a Male VGA (HD15) connection for monitors and computers that require it. DVI-D (Digital) can not convert to VGA (Analog). Only DVI-A (Analog) can be converted into VGA (Analog).

This converter converts the analog DVI signal from any graphics card into an analog VGA signal of the same resolution, allowing for the connection of DVI Analog or DVI Integrated (DVI-I) graphics cards to traditional VGA displays. Compatible with any of our DVI-A or DVI-I cables.

Use this adapter to change your DVI Connector to regular VGA Connector. Some video cards have a dual display capability. Use this adapter to allow dual display.

There are two types of DVI Connectors: DVI Analog and DVI Digital. If your DVI is digital, this DVI Adaptor will not work. Please check your DVI Pins carefully whether this DVI adapter will fit in.

For example, if you have ATI Radeon VE Dual Monitor graphic card, you need this adapter to change one of your DVI connector to VGA connector to enable your Dual Monitor capability.

DVI-I to VGA Converter Features:

  • Performance-High Speed Digital Data Transmission delivers the signal faster and stronger
  • Quality-Manufacturer lifetime warranty
  • Thumbscrews and barrel nuts make installation a breeze
  • Full Undermold shield helps meet FCC requirements on EMI/RFI interference
  • Gold plated copper contacts provide maximum conductivity with no data loss
Question: Can I use this adapter with a HDMI to DVI adapter to convert HDMI to VGA or visa versa?

Answer: No, absolutely not. DVI-I connectors can connect to both digital and analog signals but carry those signals on separate pins. So the analog pins on the DVI connector that the VGA is connected to would not be connected to any of the digital pins that the HDMI is sending to the DVI.

Also, analog and digital signals are two completely different types of signal. Even if they were connected in the above scenario, you would not get any picture or sound. The signal would need to be sampled by a chip that would apply an advanced algorithm and re-encode it into the other format. This requires a video processor. It can not be done with simple pin adapters like these.
