This DVI cable is rated to 1080p and are HDCP Compliant.
DVI, “Digital Visual Interface,” is a standard developed by the Digital Display Working Group, designed to maximize the connectivity between a source and its display. Originally intended for easing computer set-up, newer HDTV televisions adopted this connector several years ago, just before the HDMI connector was sanctioned by the Advanced Television Standards Committee (ATSC) for the same purpose in television. The two kinds of connectors carry the same digital HDCP copy-protected information, but the DVI architecture and software have proven to be more robust in the short term.
A single DVI link actually consists of four twisted pairs of wire (red, green, blue and a clock) to transmit 24-bit data per pixel. A single DVI link can transmit a maximum resolution at 60Hz of 2.6 megapixels. Not surprisingly, the DVI connector has provision for a second link, doubling the available bandwidth at 60 Hz to 5.2 megapixels. The DVI connector is capable of handling analog (DVI-A), digital (DVI-D), or a combination of both (DVI-I), and it is possible to have audio as well, though this is not being implemented in consumer televisions.
The DVI cable can be used with:
- High-definition TiVo's with DVI outputs,
- High-definition cable receivers with DVI outputs,
- Upconverting DVD players with DVI outputs,
- High-definition satellite receivers with DVI outputs,
- and other similar devices.
All of our cables have gold plated connectors which resist corrosion 100 times better then non-plated connectors. Many home theater applications require the cables be installed inside walls, fireplaces or other moisture rich areas and using our gold plated connectors assures you that you will not have any future corrosion issues that may result in a bad high definition picture.
Your video is only as good as the DVI cable that connects it. Why not buy a DVI cable today?
