The DVI Repeater is placed directly at the signal source (usually a PC graphics card).

The rule of thumb is that as the bandwidth increases, the maximum cable length decreases, and as the cable length increases, the maximum bandwidth capability decreases.

Input Connector: DVI-D Male
Output Connector: DVI-I Female

The DVI repeater Features:
* Plugs directly into the PC graphics cards; digitally restores and regenerates the DVI signal before traveling across the cable.
* Supports high resolution DVI signals up to 1280 x 1024 / 60Hz on cable runs up to 30 meters (98.4 ft.) long.
* Dimensions L x W x H = 1.92” x 1.58” 0.53” (volume = 1.6 inch3); 48.8mm x 40.1mm x 13.5mm (volume = 26.4 cm3)
* Uses +5 VDC power for the Mini-Repeater is supplied on pin 14 of the DVI connector (this is part of the DVI specification). The DVI Repeater does not need to be plugged into an external power supply.
* This DVI Repeater is designed for PC applications and does not support HDCP.
* To ensure superior performance and maximum cable lengths use DVIGear’s Super High Resolution DVI Cables. * This configuration is best when the DVI signal from the source is weak, which can be the case with certain computer graphics cards.
* In this setup, the Mini-Repeater will boost the signal from the beginning of the cable allowing the signal to travel farther than what would have been possible otherwise.
* When a single Mini-Repeater is used in boost mode, the maximum allowable cable length depends on the signal characteristics of both the source and display, as well as the resolution of the DVI signal.
* For resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 / 60 Hz, the overall cable length following the repeater should not exceed 20 meters (65.6 ft.)

DVI Repeater Mode:
* If cables must be extended beyond 15-20 meters, then a DVI Repeater should be used.
* A single DVI Repeater can interconnect two 15 meter DVI cables, which allow sources with resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 / 60 Hz can to be extended 30 meters (98.4 ft.).
* It is possible to connect up to two (2) Mini-Repeaters in series. By cascading two Mini-Repeaters three 10 meter DVI cables can be interconnected, which allow sources with resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 / 60 Hz can to be extended 30 meters (98.4 ft.).

This DVI Repeater is placed directly at the signal source and the second Mini Repeater is placed between two lengths of DVI cable. This configuration is typically used when the source has a weak signal.
