MORE INFO ON COLORADO MATRIX SWITCHERS FROM HDTV SUPPLYCOLORADO MATRIX SWITCHERS FROM HDTV SUPPLY

WHAT IS A MATRIX SWITCH: They allow any video or audio input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs, or any combination. Our 8x8 Component Matrix Switchers give you over 17,000,000 input and output combinations.

WHAT IS THE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY WITH YOUR COLORADO MATRIX SWITCHERS: We start with a basic unit like a 4x4, 8x8 or 16x16 and expand using another box. A 16X32 component matrix switcher uses 2-16x16s that are stacked together with front end Y cables. Since it is made up of 2 - 16X16 matrix switchers in the unlikely event of a failure you always have 16 TV's working during the repair.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A COMPONENT MATRIX SWITCHER FOR MY SPORTS BAR:
  1. Determine the number of component video inputs you need now and in the future
  2. Determine the number of component video outputs you need now and in the future
  3. Decide whether you need audio or not
  4. If you need audio, how many audio outputs do you need?
  5. Measure the cable lengths from the sources to the component matrix & from the matrix to the TVs
  6. Choose if you want component cabling or component to CAT5 conversion due to your long cable lengths
  7. Review the sources to see whether they need to be converted to a component output
  8. Think about how you want to control it...remote control, front panel, PCs RS232, iPad, or a LAN or 3rd party drivers from Control4, Crestron, RTI or AMX
  9. Decide whether you want an extended warranty up to 5 years
DON'T I NEED HDMI: Most bars and restaurants use component video due to its simplicity, excellent picture quality and cost. A 16x16 component matrix from us is ~$2500 and our cheapest 16x16 HDMI matrix is ~$5,500 and fully loaded for a sports bar near $8,000. We feel the picture quality of component video is similar to walking the aisles of Best Buy and your customers will never see or know the difference between HDMI and component.

HOW ARE THEY CONTROLLED: The Colorado Component Video Matrix Switchers can be controlled by several methods, you can choose the one the best fits your control needs.
  1. Optional iPad App (preferred)
  2. Manual control using the front panel LCD display
  3. IR control using a programmable remote
  4. IR control using your standard remote
  5. Zerokey can learn any remote keys to control the Colorado
  6. RS-232 control with a Windows PC or your existing home theater controller with our software
WHAT IS ZEROKEY: There is no remote control that comes with the Colorado as the remote control interface can use ZeroKey infrared code cloning to map any remote control key to each of the inputs and outputs. ZeroKey technology is compatible with virtually all remote controls, and does not interfere with the normal operation of the remote. ZeroKey programming is stored in flash memory, and you will not need to reprogram even if you lose power. If you buy a new remote in the future, don't worry, the Colorado can be reprogrammed as much as you like.

WHAT WINDOWS SOFTWARE DO YOU HAVE IF I WANT TO CONTROL BY A PC: VSXCtl provides a fully customizable control package for our switches. It can run on any Windows platform and can connect to the unit using many common options. VSXCtl is primarily targeted for commercial applications in order to provide an easy to use control solution. VSXCtl can also be used as a debug tool during installation, a supplemental control method to an IR based system, or a primary residential control system in cost sensitive applications. If you have a MAC you will need Parallels software.

WHAT IS THE SWITCHING TIME: The latency from input to output is a within 10-20 milliseconds and far shorter than the TV's will take to re-synch the new signal and is not perceivable.

WHERE ARE THEY MADE: They were designed in the USA and are made in the USA, in Colorado.

WHERE ARE THEY SUPPORTED: Support is from California (PST) with Free Lifetime Telephone Tech Support.

ARE THEY IN STOCK: They usually ship the same day and if not the shipping delay is only 3 or 4 days.

WHAT 3rd PARTY CONTROLS DO YOU SUPPORT: You will have access to AMX drivers, Control4 drivers and RTI drivers. See them in the MANUALS TAB at 3rd Party Drivers.
