The 8x8 Atlona HDMI Matrix Switcher with RS-232 and IR Remote is designed to work as a switcher for multiple sources and displays. With a maximum bandwidth of 6.75Gbps, this device will support a sharp and highly defined video in multiple resolutions of up to 1080p. Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs or any combination. It completely eliminates the need to constantly move around video input and output cables.

The RS-232 control allows the switcher to be controlled by 3rd party control systems like Crestron, AMX and Control4, or any computerized software/hardware control systems. Atlona's AT-HD-V88M comes with an IR remote control as well. Note: If connecting the outputs to both displays and AV receivers, the audio output will only be stereo due to the limitations of the display.

If all devices are AV receivers then multi-channel audio such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD can be output. Likewise, the switcher will also look at the resolution of all flat panels connected and output the resolution of the lowest display. To achieve 1080p across all displays, no matter what their resolution is, take a look at the AT-HD560 and AT-HD550.
