This 16x16 Audio Matrix Switch w/adjustable volume & Audio Delay controls allows you to send 16 audio sources to 16 TV's in any combination, and 8 composite video signals.

The Colorado-AV integrates full 16 by 16 audio matrix switch of analog + digital audio signals with high quality programmable volume audio line drivers and 8 by 8 composite video matrix switching. Because it is a matrix switcher, it allows any input to be routed to any output; or the same input to be routed to all outputs or any combination.

Audio delay control: Audio video delay mismatch is the single largest problem in today's home theaters. Scientific studies have shown that even slight mismatches cause major viewer dissatisfaction and annoyance. In fact, the majority of viewers preferred watching 480p material with correct AV sync vs. 1080p material with a small offset. You can make your home theaters stand out from the competition by correcting this with the Colorado-AV matrix!

Where does audio video delay mismatch come from? In todays digitally processed video environment there are many sources.
  • TV signal processing: Your digital TVs all have delay, and this keeps growing. The TV speakers will normally be delay matched for this, but your in wall sound will not be!
  • Signal distribution: While component video has no detectable delay, digital transmission does. Each method varies.
  • Source material: The editing methods used to create the digital source material do not always use proper methods to align the video and audio streams. This is very common.
  • Source equipment: Cable and satellite boxes often have firmware or design issues that create static mismatches.

Control of this switcher can be managed via its front-panel control, IR remote control, RS-232, or our optional RS-232 to Ethernet Converter. The RS-232 to Ethernet Converter allows control of the unit from anywhere in the world given you know how to write RS-232 code and have the correct serial Ethernet hardware.

This 16X16 Matrix Switcher Video distribution: The Colorado-Audio is the ideal amplifier for driving long video cables in your home. Many vendors claim their products can do this, but very few can accomplish this without distortion of the video. The most important amplifier design factors in driving long cables are source impedance matching, output connector quality, amplifier bandwidth, and amplifier current drive and slew rate. The output amplifiers use the best components for all these, resulting in the best signal distribution you can get.

ZeroKey Technology: The remote control interface can use ZeroKey infrared code cloning to map any remote control key to each of the inputs and outputs. ZeroKey technology is compatible with virtually all remote controls, and does not interfere with the normal operation of the remote.  ZeroKey programming is stored in flash memory, and you will not need to reprogram even if you lose power. HDMI Expansion Capability: The 16x16 Composite Video + Audio Matrix Switch has the ability to seamlessly add HDMI matrix switching capability. Sony Remote Control Download to be used with the Sony RM-AV3000 Universal Remote Control with Touch-key LCD Screen or similar

In this profile we have setup each output zone as a component on the remote. Since the remote can handle 16 component, it will work for the Colorado A/V. If you have a smaller unit, just delete some of the extra zones. You can then use the spare components to control other devices in the system.

To operate the remote, press the "Component key" and then select the output zone you wish to switch (toggle through the components by pressing the LCD component 1/4 at the top). This will load the input select screen. From here, you can select any input or use the hard "volume" keys to adjust the volume.

System control keys 1 and 2 are power on and power off.

This profile shows you how to control a bank of 4 Colorado's with the single remote. This can be expanded to more devices or less depending on your needs. Use a Sony RM-AV3000 Universal Remote Control with Touch-key LCD Screen or similar

To control this remote:

Select "components" and select the output bank you want to switch (1-16, 17-32, etc)

Select the specific output you wish to control (1-16). Note if on bank 2 the 1-16 corresponds to 17-32)

Select "components" and select input control

Select the input you wish to switch.

Note: You need to program IR code 0 on CMX devices 2, 3, and 4 (not 1). Program device 2 to hard key "Channel -" on the Zone17-32 page. Program device 3 to hard key "Channel -" on the Zone33-48 page. Program device 4 to hard key "Channel -" on the Zone49-64 page.
